The Indiana State Fair is an annual state fair traditionally held each August. In 2022, Indiana State Fair is scheduled to open on Friday, July 29 and runs through August 21, when you can enjoy The Greatest 18 Days of Summer at this iconic Hoosier tradition.
The fair takes place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, which is located 4 mi north of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S. The first state fair was held in October 1852 on the grounds of Military Park in Indianapolis. The fair has taken place at its current venue since 1892.

I have been to the Indiana State Fair every year for 33 years. I wouldn’t miss it. I recommend the grilled cheese at the Dairy Barn located near the grandstands. You also need to try a pork tenderloin, especially if you are from out of state.

Indiana State Fair is always a blast. So much to do and see. Clean. Like to go every year. Something for everyone!

The fair midway has tons of rides, the event centers and show halls are clean. The food choices are second to none. I really enjoy just going and eating all the old classic fair food items!
